Wattle Hill Take the Moonlight Head Rd from Wattle Hill on the Great Ocean Road, and proceed to the end, past the optional road to Wreck Beach (for later) and the historic grave site, and at the end you'll arrive at 'The Gable'. It is only a short 10 minute, interesting walk through ti-tree tunneled foliage to the cliff edge - and an edge it is! 400 feet of it, one of the highest cliff-edge lookouts in all of Australia. The Wreck Beach road on the other hand, provide you the opportunity to drive down towards the beach itself. At low tide you can walk down the 366 steps to stand on the beach, and also take a further walk to inspect embedded anchors of the wrecked ships: Marie Gabrielle and the Fiji. |
