Wahgunyah, Victoria is on the border of NSW with a single lane bridge over the Murray River. The customs house is still standing in pride of position at the start of the main street of the town next to the bridge, and the Old Empire Hotel, the surviving pub of the town.

A notable land mark in the park by the river just west of the town, is the Mass Tree. This is where first religious service was held in 1869, and the tree stands, with a plaque, as a formidable memory of the event.
